An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Plant Technician to join our team at our Unanderra branch, working across our range of construction and earthmoving equipment brands.
About the Role
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will play a key role in preparing new and used plant equipment for delivery, as well as supporting the wider workshop team with servicing and repairs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections and builds on new plant equipment, including Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema and New Holland machines
- Assisting with routine servicing and repairs on plant and construction equipment
- Undertaking general fault diagnosis and mechanical repairs as required
- Maintaining a clean, safe and efficient workshop environment
- Working collaboratively with the Service Manager and workshop team to meet customer and production timeframes
- Maintaining accurate service and inspection records
Working Hours
Full time, Monday to Friday with overtime as required.
Key Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- A genuine interest in and willingness to learn plant/heavy equipment mechanics — trade-qualified technicians and less experienced candidates (including apprentices) are both encouraged to apply
- Current car driver’s licence
- Current forklift licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
Desirable:
- Previous experience working on construction, earthmoving or plant equipment
- Experience with any of Kobelco, ASV, Merlo, Hydrema or New Holland equipment
